The Wojak meme, which originated in 2009, is also known as "Feels Guy." This character is a simple black-and-white drawing of a bald man with a sad or vacant expression, created in MS Paint. It first appeared on the German imageboard Krautchan, uploaded by a user with the nickname "Wojak." It later gained widespread popularity through platforms like 4chan and Reddit.

Initially, Wojak memes were used to express feelings of loneliness and sadness. A famous variation, "I Know That Feel Bro," depicts two Wojaks comforting each other. Over time, this character has been featured in an increasing number of internet memes, often used in political satire and social commentary. For instance, in 2018, the NPC Wojak variation emerged, satirizing individuals lacking critical thinking in political debates.

As time passed, Wojak inspired various adaptations. Notable examples include Doomer Wojak, representing despair and nihilism; Tradwife, symbolizing traditional values; and Soyjak, which mocks so-called "beta males." These characters reflect different social and philosophical themes and are widely utilized in internet culture.
