The phrase came out of the live chat on YouTuber Chimchakman's stream. During a segment in which he advertises whatever viewers ask him to, a viewer typed "Zuckerberg is a really famous reptilian", and the moment he read it out and burst into laughter became the meme's starting point. Sentences with the same structure began spreading from the summer of 2023.
There is a reason it was Zuckerberg. Meta's founder has long been a stock subject of reptilian conspiracy jokes in the English-speaking internet, on account of his pale skin, wide eyes, faint eyebrows and famously unchanging expression. So the chat message was not entirely original; what was new was stating an already-circulating joke as though it were settled fact.
How the sentence works
The mechanism sits in the modifier "really famous." The speaker is not making a claim. They are pretending to confirm something everyone already knows. There is no argument and no evidence, only the posture of "well, it's common knowledge" — attached to a statement no one has ever heard before.
That makes it hard to rebut. Because it is presented as common knowledge rather than as an assertion, whoever disagrees ends up looking like the one who is behind on the information. The clipped declarative ending in Korean serves the same purpose.
