Origin

‘Ttalkkak’ is the Korean onomatopoeia for a single mouse click. As a meme it traces to one panel of a short Hearthstone comic drawn in 2015 by the Korean freelance illustrator PjkKA, posted to the Hearthstone gallery on DCInside during the game’s peak.

That single panel is the whole meme. On one side, a player reading the board, calculating, fighting with everything they have; on the other, someone lying back and winning by pressing the mouse with a toe — click. A situation in which effort and outcome bear no relation to each other, summarised by one sound, with no dialogue and no explanation.

Spread

It began as a card-game joke, but the structure works with no reference to the game, so it crossed fields quickly. Football, baseball, fighting games, other card games — any situation where one side grinds and the other coasts to the same result attracted the word. It pairs naturally with the Korean slang for winning without effort.

It is also a case where the posture spread further than the word. The pose of lying back and clicking with a toe has been parodied widely, and the drawing alone communicates the point. From it came derivatives naming the person who does it.

Usage

• Contrasting the side that struggled with the side that got the result easily
• Dismissing an overpowered character, strategy or tool as ‘just a click’
• Any situation where the complicated process is skipped and only the result arrives

It reads as deflation rather than accusation. It does not allege cheating; the point is the self-mocking sense that one’s own effort has been made to look pointless.
