"Let me do it for you" is a line from Cellophane, the 2019 song by the British musician FKA twigs. The original is a ballad about heartbreak; what became a meme is a parody cover of it sung in the voice of the Muppet Miss Piggy, addressed to Kermit the Frog.
According to Know Your Meme, the first appearance was a voice memo posted in February 2022 by the Instagram user boyfriend.dick3 (now boyfriend.dick5), singing the song as Miss Piggy. YouTuber Will Orrick reposted it on February 24th, gaining more than 40,900 views within a year, and a remix that added instrumentation later landed on TikTok as an original sound.
Spread
TikTok caught fire on November 24th, 2022, when the user @ajasman posted a video using the remix. The sound was used more than 24,000 times within two months. By late December 2022 videos on that sound were dominated by animals — especially animals with unusual proportions.
The defining clip came on January 7th, 2023, from the animator drawzillazzz: an animation of a long-snouted Borzoi pushing its nose into a Pringles can to retrieve chips for its owner. It drew 45.7 million plays and 5.4 million likes in four days and became the meme's signature image. The Borzoi is a Russian sighthound, and meme culture had already settled on a signature way of shooting it — a 0.5x wide-angle lens held right at the tip of the nose, stretching the snout into something absurdly long. That visual grammar plus the Miss Piggy sound became a genre of its own.
Usage
It gets attached to any situation where "let me do it for you" is taken literally and carried out in a way that helps nobody.
