"Give me a round of applause!" (박수 한번 주세요) is a broadcast meme that took root on the Korean streaming platform Chzzk. When a streamer is playing badly and the chat fills with complaints, they deadpan "give me a round of applause~" and viewers flood the chat with clapping emotes. The point is not applause earned by playing well but papering over a disaster with applause — praise in form, damage control in substance, and the mismatch is the joke.
It began as a verbal tic of the streamer Ttirogi. Streamers including Kkollangi and Kodunging picked it up on their own broadcasts, and it spread widely through Han Dong-suk's channel before reaching League of Legends streamers generally. Once established, it had a side effect: on losing games, reactions shifted toward calling for applause or a "void" rather than cursing, which is credited with keeping broadcasts from turning ugly.
