Origin
"Nice — this lighting, this temperature, this humidity" is known as a line by the actor Nam Joo-hyuk on the tvN variety show Three Meals a Day: Mountain Village. That season began on August 9th, 2019 with Yum Jung-ah, Yoon Se-ah and Park So-dam as the regulars, and Nam appeared as the third guest in the September 13th, 2019 episode. Breaking down an uneventful evening in the mountains into lighting, temperature and humidity, one after another, sounded oddly earnest — and it became a reaction image immediately.
The phrasing is not his invention, though. On the YouTube show Salon Drip 2, released July 14th, 2026, Nam himself said "Park Byung-eun is the original": he had heard the actor Park Byung-eun say at a stage greeting for the film The Great Battle that "the lighting, temperature and humidity in this theater are so good," liked the expression, tried it on the show, and never expected it to blow up.
Spread
What makes it funny is not that the line is elegant but that it insists on decomposing a moment in which nothing is happening into sensory components. Drop it on a campsite, a commute home or a café and the speaker instantly becomes a self-appointed connoisseur of ambience.
Two registers coexist in practice. One is sincere — a way to mark a genuinely nice moment. The other is knowingly corny, used precisely because it is. The second dominates, and people often extend the list: "this lighting, temperature, humidity, fine-dust level."
Usage
- As a caption on outdoor photos on a good day
- As an impression when mocking someone getting sentimental
- Ironically, when conditions are awful — a heatwave at 90% humidity
- As a list-extension game, adding items indefinitely
